Traffic Enhancements at Al Safa 1 Schools Complex

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully completed significant traffic improvements at four key locations within the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex.

These enhancements are part of RTA’s ongoing commitment to improving road safety, easing congestion, and optimizing traffic flow in one of Dubai’s busiest educational hubs.

Key Traffic Improvements of Traffic Enhancements at Al Safa 1 Schools

One of the most notable upgrades is the addition of a 255-meter lane to the service road connecting the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road with Al Hadiqa Road (second junction) towards the roundabout leading to Street 13. This expansion is expected to reduce travel time to the Al Safa 1 Schools Complex by 20%, ensuring smoother traffic flow during peak hours.

To address congestion issues, especially during school pick-up and drop-off times, 22 new parallel parking slots have been created near Al Safa School and Al Ittihad School. These additional parking spaces are designed to streamline traffic, making it easier for parents and service providers to navigate the area.

The RTA has also widened the exit from Street 19 to Al Wasl Street by adding a 330-meter lane. In conjunction with this, the number of left-turn lanes has been reduced to improve traffic distribution. Additionally, 18 new parking spaces have been introduced opposite Jumeirah College, further contributing to the reduction of congestion.

A new U-turn exit has been added on Al Wasl Street, complete with a traffic signal and pedestrian crossing. These features are specifically designed to enhance safety for both motorists and pedestrians, reducing the risk of accidents in the area.

Impact of the Improvements

These strategic enhancements are expected to have a significant impact on the daily commute of students, residents, and service providers in the Al Safa 1 area. By improving road infrastructure, RTA is not only reducing travel times but also elevating safety standards.

The project reflects RTA’s broader mission to enhance the efficiency of Dubai’s road network, ensuring that it meets the demands of a growing city.

With these upgrades, the RTA continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting Dubai’s development, making it a safer and more efficient place for all road users.

As Dubai continues to grow as a global destination, such infrastructure improvements are crucial in maintaining the city’s high standards of living and operational efficiency.
